Are there any genius ideas out there that have been discussed to prevent the fake injuries that slow down the game?

My idea would be to have the league office look at all injuries after every game. If the player took a dive, then suspend him. Another idea would be for the refs to actually give cards to players that dive.

Being done now more than ever.

I would like to see this scenario. If a player is taken off on a stretcher his team has the following options.
1. Immediate substitution
2. If not seriously injured, the team must play with 10 men for 10 minutes. No Dani Alves shite allowed.

This is what I have been thinking.. just have a committee whose job it is to review game film and determine if it is a "flagrant dive" resulting in a fine and a missed match.

I would also support disciplining officials that allow the stuff to happen.

I have been wanting FIFA to do this for years. The only time I can ever remember a player getting punished for a dive after the fact was Rivaldo against Turkey in WC '02. Even then, he was fined but not suspended.

While we're on the general topic: Bale leads EPL players in yellows for simulation......hmmm....

As infuriating as fake injuries are, some countries actually see deception as an integral part of the game that can benefit a team.

To fans in Italy, the referee is always assumed to be corrupt. The history of corruption in Italian soccer (and an almost universal mistrust of authority dating back to the Fascist regime) makes faking out the ref perfectly justifiable in their eyes. Different countries also have different interpretations of what is and isn't a foul.

Basically, it'd be too difficult to globally legislate fake injuries out of the game IMO. It's a cultural thing.

It's hard to differentiate between fake injuries and impact injuries which don't force a player out of the game.
