what does it compare to? for some reason i always thought of saving private ryan when someone talked about that movie... its set during WWII right?

More along the lines of a Schindler's List type of movie. More about the Jewish/Warsaw Ghetto than anything.

Beautiful and sad. It's the holocaust-oriented film that makes me realize the most what that kind of horror would feel like.
