LSU Law ranks #1 of Bar passage prediction rate...

LSU Law Center ranks #1 in a study connecting the LSAT scores of students and how well the law school prepares students to pass the bar. (The study implies students with lower LSAT scores might not pass the bar.) Studied conducted by The National Jurist.

So it means that LSU has the best professors/learning environment relative to the intelligence of the students.

eta: This comment makes a good points

However, it looks as though the study is comparing the incoming credentials of the current students with the bar passage rate of students who took the LSAT three years earlier. Schools do experience shift in the LSAT score of the bottom quartile in the three (+) years between matriculation and sitting for a bar exam so it would be more beneficial to know if those bar exam takers outperformed their own predictors rather than the predictors of a different group of people.

Passing the bar doesn't mean shite. There are plenty of shitty lawyers out there.

Yea, cause they are a 3 year bar review course. Tulane, which consistenly ranks higher academically and is much harder to get into, has a slightly lower pass rate, most of the time, because they have two curriculums, civil and common law. Many common law students get job offers in Louisiana and decide to take the bar without the benefits of 3 years of training the test.

I went to LSU undergrad and Tulane Law, took only the civil law curriculum, and passed the bar the first time, like 100% of my classmates who took only the civil law curriculum. Only about 1/2 of the students who took the common law curriculum passed the first time, because they were completely unfamiliar with the terminology and a 4 week bar review course was not enough to get them up to speed.

The statistics are misleading.

No, it means LSU teaches the bar. Florida Coastal is ranked in the top 20, and FC is in the running for worst school out there. Nova Southeastern another unranked, private school toilet is ranked in the top 10.

As opposed to what? Teaching you how to practice law? No school does that.

Weird that LSU does it over 3 years, but Barbri does it in three weeks, not to mention Barbri charges a fraction of the cost.

False. It does not mean they teach the bar. You can select the classes you take. And if you want you can almost completely ignore the bar courses. Sure, you get a better basic understanding of civil law terms because you are exposed to it more, but not because the school teaches the bar. Such a general statement ignores the reality.
