What do I need to look out for. I's been many yrs since I had a pup and I never have picked one out of a litter this young. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I like to take a wing or something with game scent on it, and see which ones seem more interested in it. Then look at size, stature, signs of alertness.

Temperament Test Temperament Test for Puppies

There a bunch of attributes to look for. Dominance and willingness to follow are important traits. Roll onto back and hold. If it bites, kicks, claws, howls...and will not stop until released- you will have a hard headed dog.

Edit: Volhard Puppy Test

Temperament Test

I have done this with almost every dog I have owned. Its a pretty comprehensive personality test.

I am having a hard time with the picture, but what kid of pups are you holding?

This plus I avoid any pup that avoids or is not interested in me.

when I picked out my puppy, I passed on the one that was aggressive. Bastard started chewing my shoe laces. My young daughter won't let me forget it either, that's the puppy she wanted.

7 weeks per Glen. Took forever to get the pics out of him. My wife and son are hollering for the redder one, I told them whatever dog is in my hands when I get home is the one they get. They are not happy.

Whatever one it is it's gonna live the good life, good thing I'm not gonna hunt him.

Ask Glen to show you the pups parents, he should have them on site. It'll give you an idea of how big he'll be, somewhat. I know mine is bigger than his parents. And don't skimp on the puppy food.
