Need new outboard motor 25 or 40 HP, any recommendations?

My 15 year old Yamaha 4 stroke (i believe) is on its last leg. Any advice would be appreciated.
Loved the Yamaha, not a fan of Tohatsu in the past.

Yamaha 40. If you get the 25 you'll be wishing you got the 40.

We have a 2stroke merc 25 with God knows how many hours on it and its still going strong. Damn thing is completly bulletproof. Best outboard i have ever seen.

I would go Merc 40. If you was going with a big outboard I wuld say yamaha. You can put a few bucks on that 40 and make it run very well.

Leaning to the Yamaha, but heard it's not as good as the model I had. I don't want to be disappointed.

Ive never ran an etec, but i absolutely love the way they are made. Evinrude has always been underrated imo.

Great Advice. I have a mercury 2009 4 stroke. Love it.
