Rivals is a joke. I personally believe this class is the most talented Louisiana class in the last 5 years. It makes you wonder what these scouts look at (if anything). I'm not complaining about this, although I'm sure sounds that way, it's more of an annoyed fan that follows closely to LSU football and recruiting feeling like the kids from the boot get disrespected by the majority of these high school scouting sites.

It's not in the same hemisphere as 2011.

I'll say the top 5 aren't as talented as the top 5 in 2011, but as a whole this class is more talented. Not just LSU recruits but top to bottom. Even 2011 they were disrespected by national recruiting sites.

It's looking deeper than 2011 early but definitely not at the top and the depth is still a little bit of a reach until later. I think it's a good year overall. Just not top heavy.

Probably won't have a 5 star in Louisiana this year. I think Desean Smith has a good chance at getting one though. Love him personally. Hope we get him.

You had guys like Micah Eugene and Jonah Austin who can play at the bottom of the class in 2011. That was a deep year as well.

I mentioned this in the 250 thread. Some guys are just now sending out videos. The lsu coaches haven't even seen video on all the kids they will offer. With guys like lawson, he just started playing DT part way through his jr year. Def not enough video to adequately rank these kids. On top of that I feel like scout has the best LA scouts out there, or maybe just a bigger team, the guys on tsd really do their hw on the LA kids.

As soon as Bama offers they will jump to the top 100.

If they commit they will jump in the top 20.

They've admitted to being down just to see a couple of prospect on 2 or so different weekends. Rivals seems to think getting into Louisiana is a difficult task being that it's so far from their HQ

I don't think anyone hates LSU. Just think rivals is lazy.

Not as invested is a better way to put it. They need to find better scouts and writers from LA. The amount of Pelican players that go to the NFL reveal the huge flaws in their analysis of LA talent.

Saban no longer coaches in Louisiana so there are not as many top 100 players. Have you noticed the decrease in top 100 players from Louisiana and the increase in top 100 players in Alabama over the last 5 years or so??? This goes to show you that the recruiting sites tend to show favoritism in their rankings!!

2 in the top 100 is good considering our population in relation to the U.S. as a whole. In theory, since LA comprises a bit less than 1/50 of the country's population, we should have either one or two each year, and each year we have more than that should stand out as an astonishing statistical aberration.

just saying.

It's still early, but yes, Rivals has in the eyes of many lost some of its luster of past years. I believe they are probably underestimating several LA players for the Class of 2013.
