this...if you are looking to spend around 100 bucks just get a Shimano Caenan

It would probably work good in practice.

If your gonna do that pony up another $20 or the Citica or $30 for the Revo S. You'll be glad you did later. I have an Abu Orra SX which is about $100, and wish I would have spent a little more for a Revo. IMO if your gonna fish hard, get a Citca or Revo or better. If not get something $60 or less so you can chunk it when it breaks in a couple years and get a new one without feeling bad.

ETA I played with one of those linked in the OP in cabelas and wasn't impressed for the price FWIW

I have the Georgia one paired up with a custom built red and black rod.

Its an ok reel, mid grade about as good as a BPS Extreme or Pro Qualifier.

To me it looks like you are paying for the decoration and not the quality of the reel. If you want to put a college logo on your fishing equipment I would go ahead and modify a rod. You can cover the eyes up with tape and spray paint the rod. If you aren't very artsy then simply spray it a solid color and put some stickers on it.

for $100, get an Ambassadeur C4 5600. Best reel under $100.
