We are going on our second in Feb. We are going just outside of Katy, Texas. Last year we went around Johnson's Bayou, LA. It was a blast (literally). Bring LOTS of shells. We went through 2 to 3 boxes each. That whole no plug thing is nice

Johnson's Bayou, LA, was this on private or public land?
do you know how to get on one around BR?

Go to the LSU lakes... that's the only geese I see around BR.

for some reason i think the sorority girls wouldn't like me waking them up at 6am shooting 3.5" shells on their front lawn on a saturday morning...

If I had a recorder I could do it at my place.. Have rags and such but I am not spending $800 on a recorder to go kill snows and blues..

Private hunting club, Point Pleasant I believe. My BIL was in the club last year but has since moved to Katy. The closest I have seen many geese around BR is in Ville Platte but no clue who you would get in touch with to hunt up there.

Go prepared with plenty of shells but don't assume you're going to stack them like you see in the youtube vids and DVDs. Contrary to what a lot of folks think, snows & blues are VERY smart, especially late in the season like this. Yes you may nearly melt your barrel on them, but there's a similarly likely chance you'll only shoot a few. It'll largely depend on the weather you get the day of the hunt and how hot the field is. Pray for WIND and low ceiling. Know a lot of folks who've gone jacked up and come home disappointed. One thing's for sure, when they're coming into a big spread and an e-caller it's unreal. I've had them land and walking around me before the shot was called, best of luck!

I have wanted to do this for years but for some reason it never happens. I have access to an ecaller. And I have hunting rights to a farm in Mer Rouge, La. and there are plenty of geese. I just need the rags I guess. What type of rags do yall use? And what days is this hunt?

You can get rags pretty cheap online through Rogers sporting goods or Mack's, etc. Rags are good but full bodies or 5/8's shells are much better, but much more $$$. Check the LDWF website for the exact dates but it goes into March. May as well give it a try if you've got the birds
