Bama saw Jefferson as NO threat to pass the ball down field.

They pinned their ears back.

Which type because there are two types: one type is this thread. The other type are the threads complaining about how LSU fans are reacting.

can we just consolidate the two into this thread and maybe save the rest of the board from the daily menstruation?

Miles quit early. He had players that could contribute sitting the bench. His ego and stupidity is what really got to me about the game. i know there are still some out there that feel he is some kind of genius , and I used to think he was a great. But to show this side of himself on a national game and let down the team like he did changed the way I think about him.

Anyone who saw the game and saw aything different is kidding themselves.

Plus it was bama.

An as far as you people with the Obama mentality that feel if everyone doesn't blieve what you believe then they are wrong. You are truly dillusional.

Living in North Al. made it a lot worse for me. It is easy being a tiger fan in BTR or La. but it is tough up here. I have lived here 35 years & have worn my P/G every day of the week except Sun. I will always be a tiger & will never give up my colors no matter what!

It takes time to develop "down the field" patterns, and pass protection just wasn't there.

Yea, Bama wouldn't have had any pass rush with another QB in the game. Nicky woulda shite his britches and went straight into cover4.
Some of you guys are gonna have to deal with the fact the gumps just outplayed our boys that night.
There's no single player or person to dump it all on.

In many ways, this was just a perfect storm to piss people off.

You are playing in a game you've never lost, in a stadium you've never lost, against a team you've already beaten. Further, that team is your top rival in the conference and division. To make matters worse, they are coached by the guy, who should, for all intents and purposes still be at LSU if not for one ill-thought decision (which he has openly expressed himself) and who resurrected our program into prominence.

Additionally, for many, this game was a statement game. LSU could go undefeated for the first time since 1958, Miles could cement that this is his program, his legacy and he did it with his players. Further he would have beaten the guy he's constantly compared to, twice in one year, once for a National Title.

To make matters worse, the team seemed lifeless and ill-prepared and the coaching staff didn't seem to try any and everything they could to win the game.

In the end, all of that was lost, and I think that's why so many took the loss poorly.

Good post Dan. And I think we will see (and are already seeing) the after effects of this loss in recruiting, fan enthusiasm and support, and national respect.

Screens? Draws? Dump offs?

Didn't see much of that.

I can dump it on a coach though.

A coach who started calling running up the middle plays late in the third.

And then in the fourth. More running up the middle.

And the full back dive on 3rd and 4.

Then punting on fourth and 4.

The offense was out of sync, bland, unprepared and shaken. The starting qb was awful. 3 fumbles, 2 interceptions.

So according to you people aren't allowed to critique and evaluate the game, vent their frustration and express their opinions? I don't get your over all position on this topic. And yes, that includes harsh criticism of the coaches when it's deserved.

How long should it continue?
What's to be accomplished with this daily re-posting of the same old stuff?
What does repeating the same old phrases every day for two weeks add to this site?
It's time to move on. Those who are the most "hurt" have vented thier anger. Now let's all be big boys and get to other things.

And we had a crappy game plan on offense to match the output of said QB. It was the same output we saw from him since his return, hell since he's been here.

Does no one else remember how for the first half of the season when JL was playing all or most of the game, we were all talking about how excited we were about our offense? There were countless threads for the first time talking about how good our offense was. That the defense and special teams didn’t have to carry them, that they were carrying their own weight. We had a great mix of passing and running and both were effective and complimented each other.

And since the Bama game, (wonder what changed) all of a sudden we were back into the mode of, please let them do something. Was JL throwing for 300 YPG, no but it was effective enough to open up the running game and make other defenses respect the pass. Since then a whole different offense is what I saw.

The first half to ¾ of the season was totally different then the end. Then again, maybe I’m crazy and am one of the only ones who saw this. I don’t get what other people and the coaches see.

Back to the original post, it's not that we lost, it's how we played (atually didn't play) that has everyone so upset.

I guess as long as it takes for people to get the bad taste out of their mouths.

If you had paid $1500 for a NC ticket and were making about $30K a year (a working stiff), how do you think you might feel?.

Bastards listen up.

1st there is no debating that our offensive play calling was identical to the crap we blamed on Crowton. every play was as predictable as it was when he was here. It was too easy for Bama to defend.

2nd All we had to do is play competitive and we at minimum split the NC. The offensive play calling was so horribly bad that it took us out of the conversation completely for a split.

13-1 SEC champ with 1-1 record against BAMA plus an OOC schedule 5 times tougher than BAMA. Is the strongest case for a split I have ever seen. The only over riding occurance is the offensive play in the NCG. IT WAS THE PLAY CALLING AND JJ MADE ENOUGH MISTAKES TO GET PULLED AND NEVER DID.

Hardly what I'd call awful for the pressure the D forced on him.
He had 1 INT, and was 11/17 for 65% , but all short stuff.
Coaches just took what the D gave and the protection allowed.

I guess it stops at the top, but coaches don't execute the blocks.
I know you're fustrated, but remember any passing team having success vs gumps?
The only gameplan to have any success was GSU's and LSU's, but it just wasn't executed this time.
IMO, not much left to discuss except better luck next year and recruiting.
