Early estimates of damages due the Big East from WVU

$24 Million
Basically it sounds like they are going to keep all the monies WVU has won since the 2010 Final Four (including BCS OB money, and other bowl payouts) and $10 Million in buyout cash.
The old buyout was $5 Million, the new is $10 Million. We've already paid $2.5M, pay the next $2.5M when we are officially out of the conference and then an additional $5M penalty for leaving before the 27 months.
All in all I think it's worth it.

But atleast you are going to get paid $24 million from WVU, $5 million from TCU, $10-15 a piece from Pitt & Sryacuse. You might be splitting $60 million 5 ways.

true, but finish 2nd or 3rd in the big 12 and you are still headed to a good bowl. finish 2nd or 3rd in the big east and you are playing in a shite bowl.

I'm not sure he was talking about "on" the field. It's more that Texas owns the conference and it is run they way Texas wants.

Possibly, but getting it from the Catholics has gotten old and at least there is money to be made in the BigTexas conference

Whatever challenges are ahead dealing with Texas can't be much worse than getting date raped by Notre Dame in the Big East for the last decade.
