Is there any chance that we trade Okafor and resign Kaman?

we honestly need someone who simply can make shots.

We get enough open looks from 3 and even from midrange but we have no one who can make a shot.

Hopefully once Gordon comes back he will be able to make those shots, which would put less pressure on our big men

the front court is fine, oak had a pretty good game, but our main scoring threat is hurt, along with another who can make buckets... if anything, Oak damn sure isn't the problem.

I'm not saying Oak is a problem at all. I'm just speculating since we will be getting rid of one of them, could it possibly be Oak. Kaman is more of an offensive threat

If the shooting woes keep up like this, we are going to eventually have to flip one of our frontcourt expirings in Landry($9m) or Kaman ($13m) for a legit shooter to help out Gordon going into next season. As productive as Okafor has been this season, he still has 3 years on his deal with $12m per. No GM will touch that in trade talks, let alone give up value for it.

We need to trade Okafor because his contract sucks.

That's just like saying we need Lebron James because he is better than Trevor Ariza.

That's why it was a nice lineup to combat with the Thunder, if Oak didn't have such a grand contract, I myself wouldn't have a problem with him being on the team, no one is going to want to trade for him contract alone. We need our scorers to hurry up and get back

No one will take Oak, sadly.

We need to hope we strike gold at the G or SF if/when we flip an expiring contract or hit with one/two of our lottery picks.

Then we'll be STAAAAAAAAAAACKED.

How the frick is that anything like what I just said? His play isn't the reason we need to seek a trade, it's his contract. If we can get rid of the contract, then we should.

That's the thing, we can't. If you think his contract sucks, chances are the majority feels the same way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but why does his contract even matter? We are near the league floor in salary no big time FA will be coming to Nola for us to need to make room.

how about Okafor and Aminu for Iggy?

iggy would be starting sf and ariza would come off the bench. fair trade for 76ers?

There's always someone willing to do it. I'm not saying we'll be able to trade him, I'm saying the reason we should pursue it is because of the contract.

But as someone said earlier, it's not like we are in danger of going over the cap, so as longa s Okafor is productive, it isn't that bad. Of you do trade him, you better get some good pieces out of it and no team will put together a good package to get that contract.

Why would Philly do this?

They are poised to be a top 4 seed in the east and Iggy is a big part of that.
