his approach to the offensive side.

OC and leave the guy to do his job.

NOTE:If there are similar threads, please return to board and move on. Do not junk up thread with dumb "Germans" (whatever the F that dumb cliche means.)

First, I'll repeat, I love Miles and he is the best LSU coach ever imo, especially when you factor in personal character and the role model for his players.

But it became painfully clear that what he needs to do moving forward is the same thing he has done with the defensive side of the ball. Hire the best coordinator out there, then keep hands off! Having outstanding QB talent for the future will not bring the desired results if he stays with the current OC and most especially if he continues to exert his offensive philosophies and control on the offensive side. Imagine how the offense could look if there were a great OC who has the autonomy to design the schemes and call the plays? Imagine if that person can match the Chief's success, but do it on the offensive side?

I hope that change will happen, but probably won't. Whatever, I'm still a fully supportive fan of Les Miles.

What do you think of new OC, and who would you like to have?

agree

Miles has the LSU program at the pinnacle of college football. Unfortunately, so does Saban at Bama. Every other program in the country (other than Ala.) would jump at the chance to trade places w/ LSU.

The good news is that Miles HAS learned from his mistakes and does correct them, perhaps not as quickly as we'd like.

Agree totally -- hire a top-notch O-coordn and leave him alone. I think Kragthorpe IS a top-notch O-coordn but w/ his illness cannot do the job (love him as a QB coach though).

In my opinion the problem has been we have 2 less than adequate QBs that get exposed as the level of defensive competition increases. Our defensive plan was to force Bama to beat us by throwing the ball. Their defensive plan was to do they same. I felt both defenses did that. The difference is one team blocked ran the routes and completed the passes. The other team failed to execute any part of the passing game.

Not disagreeing with anything you said. But the point is, do we want to continue the same course as far as OC and Miles apparent heavy input to the offense?

Again, if you all agree a change needs to be made, who would you like as OC? (And I do agree that Kragthorpe should probably still be the QB coach)

He made a believer out of me this year.

However, he seems to be lacking in the ability to admit there needs to be something done or change when the game is on the line. He did not change Monday, and try something else, therefore I don't think he CAN change, even thought he might be able to. I am afraid that he simply does not know what to do in a difficult situation like the one we found ourselves in as of the 3rd qtr on Monday night. I hope I am wrong.

I thought what we tried to do all year on offense was right on the money. OC was on the money. Miss State game was conservatively called because they didn't trust Lee throwing it a bunch. He threw one wild pick and we score 19 points. West Virginia we make big plays on defense and Kickoffs to open it up and run it down their throats. Gators put up no defense. Auburn 2nd qt Lee throws a pick 6 under no pressure but safety drops it. We start the double move pattern and go over their heads twice. Bama Lee throws back to back picks even siting out a quarter. JJ takes over starting QB and as season progresses his inability to throw makes us get more conservative and rely on the run until vs Georgia we can't throw at all but are unstoppable running. Bama would not allow the run. That's the season
