Since we won't have SEC officials? I really think having Big 12 officials might be one of those X Factors in the game.

Yes, payback by Big XII officials for them taking the spot in the game from OSU.

if they are as blatant about it as they were in the first game, then its at least likely that it will be called more than it was then

I sure hope so. If bama doesn't get their "get out of jail free" card for:

1. Offensive holding

2. Late hits, especially on QB's

3. Extra half-yard on ball placement (and -1/2 yard placement for opponents' offenses)

4. WR picks

...I think they'll feel like they are playing with one hand tied behind their backs.

It will be called tonight no doubt.Bama will have no choice but to hold because LSU speed on turf will be too much for them to handle..

CLM knows about big 12 refs, he has better insight on how things will probably be called. Both staffs have watched tape of the Off. crew from this year, so they are both prepared, but you cannot treat this crew badly, sideline demeanor will help or hurt during play, so lets see if saban can keep himself in check and not berate the refs tonight. Venting on the refs from the big 12 league is different than in the SEC.

While in Vegas a couple of weeks ago I was searching for a prop bet on this, but could not find any. I was going to take the under on any number presented as I feel it will be 0 holding calls on Alabama in this game

We would have scored a TD on that drive if Bama gets called for that late hit on Lee. I really hope the Big 12 officials call a clean game tonight.

Rewatching the game, I saw a bunch of late hits on LSU ball carriers out of bounds.

The hit on mo Claiborne after the INT was blatantly late.

cranked up the DVR and re-watched the game last night..
quote:

1. Offensive holding
there was one time in the game when a flag was thrown on a bama run. the commentators said "i think they got bama for holding". turns out they got LSU for a hands to the facemask on an O-ineman... Probably the closest they got all year to a holding call....
quote:

2. Late hits, especially on QB's
there were several of these uncalled.. esp on out of bounds hits..
quote:

3. Extra half-yard on ball placement (and -1/2 yard placement for opponents' offenses)
didn't notice any more than the norm..
quote:

4. WR picks
there were at least two that i saw last night that were uncalled..

I just want the game called fairly....

Look for the pro lsu crowd to sway the refs minds on throwing those flags if this happens so blatantly again.

late hit on Lee
that IMO is the point that started Lee's downfall... he didn't play the same after that hit... before that hit, he was playing OK... not so much after... i believe it was his next two throws after that hit that were picked off...

If this game is called fairly, bama will be thrown far off balance. Updykes will cry foul, claim a 18th and 19th NC despite losing... and still poison our trees.

It completely rattled him. Rewatching the game, he made throws worse than 2008 jarrett lee. I mean, he threw it straight to the bama players uncontested both times.

I totally agree. Lee was moving the ball on them and that hit changed everything!

Bama doesn't know how to win a game without help from the Refs. And it's possible that the Big 12 officials won't be neutral but may be biased AGAINST them! It should be interesting.
