Link above to great article about LSU's secondary, along with Spencer Tillman's predictions about the upcoming game. Spoiler alert.... He takes the Tigers.

How many 5* recruits were in that bunch. I believe O a credit to our coaching.

Great article. Watch the ESPN sports science as well on our secondary. Reid, Taylor, Mathieu, and Claiborne can over nearly the entire field themselves because of their speed. Each player has an INSANE 40 time clocked. You simply do not beat these guys. Ever

The score was 47-21 damnit.

The Tigers are second in scoring defense and second in total defense and are first in turnover margin. A key distinction worth noting, though, especially as it relates to the secondaries is this: the best quarterback Alabama faced this season is Arkansas' Tyler Wilson, who is 23rd in the country in passing efficiency. The second best? Well, either Florida's John Brantley or Mississippi State's Chris Relf.

LSU has had to face a much better group of passers. The Tigers faced not only Wilson, but Oregon's Darron Thomas (No. 13 in passing efficiency), West Virginia's Geno Smith (No. 24) and Georgia's Aaron Murray (No. 26).

This fact is looked over repeatedly by ESPN and most of the national media.

Opponents say they rarely, if ever, see an opponent play as aggressive or as much in-your-eye man coverage as LSU does. The Tigers are relentless and just have so much length, Kelly said. Oregon's Josh Huff, one of the fastest men in college football, described facing LSU as "a learning experience." Huff said the Tigers were so dominant, it forced him to think he needs to raise his level of dedication to the game.
Wow.

Good stuff... pointing out the difference in the quality of qb's LSU has faced, in contrast to the quality of what Bama has faced really brings to light the Bama Def. being ranked ahead of us in some of the def. catagories. And to think that TM7, Reid, and Simon will be returning... I am sure some young stud next in line will be ready to fill the shoes left behind by the ones leaving.

I think our 03 crew belongs in the discussion. pretty good depth and versatility with them as well (to go along with good stats). but I'm kinda partial toward them on most things.
