How do we prevent this from EVER happening again?

I believe we are on an historic run with the way we have positioned ourselves for the next few years. But I can't help thinking that maybe our coaching staff dropped the ball a little bit here. Landon Collins is obviously extremely confident in himself to the point where no one could convince him that there were other considerations that would extend past three years. Friends and family essentially mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Should the coaches have targeted him earlier?

LSU's failure to sign a kid who has been pro Bama for quite some time essentially seals the fate that this program won't even come close to sniffing another BCS game.
