I'm thinking of going to either Antoine's, Galatoire's, Commanders, or Brennen's on either Thursday or Friday.

Do y'all have a favorite waiter there that I should request?

Also, do y'all have a preference in regards to a Friday lunch at one place or a Dinner is better in another?

Glassman has what you seek. I've burned too many bridges.

Galatoire's, Commanders,
No help with the waiters but the large majority are going to be great at these two places.

Are the Friday lunches at Galatoire's really that nice? Or is dinner just as good?

Neither is that good. People talk up the lunch because everyone's drunk and supposedly having a good time. It raises the question of why one needs to be drunk to have a good time, but that's probably not a discussion most people here want to have.

Glassman has his own table and waiter in at least 2 dozen NOLA restaurants

Lunch has a better atmosphere because it involves a bunch of lawyers and business men and women who have basically started their weekend at noon. They are ordering rounds for the table as soon as one drink looks slightly dry. It gets noisy. It gets fun. The food is the same at lunch and dinner.

If you are looking for old-school waiters, I'd go with Galatoire's.

Just so you know, Brennans really ain't all that. I wouldn't go.

Antoines and Galatoires are pretty good, but not top ten.
The deal with Galatoires is that people like to go on Friay for lunch and stay for 3 or 4 hours and it turns into a party.

With that said, it is good for out of town to see the old school places I think. I recommend Antoines and the waiter to ask for is Charles.
Arnauds would be better than Galatoires and def. better than Brennans also.

Commander's lunch request Daniel or Jenny. Both work the garden room.

Friday lunch at Galatoires is a unique experience everyone should have.. its always a who's who of New Orleans and there is always something entertaining going on. My last two times there I saw Gennifer Flowers and witnessed a blowup doll complete with an erection being passed around to every table in the place. You can argue validly that the food is overpriced (same with Antoines, Arnauds, etc), but you should splurge at least once for lunch there
