I am in my last years of school and a computer science major. But i love fishing. Ive loved it ever since i could carry a fishing pole and follow my dad to the beach. What kind of jobs could i get for a marine biologist/fishing guide, etc that would actually put food on the table for my family?

I don't want to get into a field that i love but that doesn't generate enough money for me to live comfortably. Any marine/fishing-related jobs that i could look into? TIA

You couldn't pay me $300k to spend a couple of openings on the Bering Sea.

I crossed the Gulf of Alaska on a sightseeing boat once just for the experience (positioning trip, doors and cabinets were duct taped) and it was two of the worst days of my life. I can't imagine the bering sea, for weeks. I know people that do it, however.

To answer your op. I would think a marine biologist would be a PHD and mostly reasearch.

Fishing guide would be fun but it would take a few years to build a name and client list. It is something you could do part time if you wanted.

Biologist have some of the most awesome outdoor jobs I can think of here. One of the first guys I met when I moved here was a biologist who tracks bears on Admiralty Island. you don't need a PHD.

Nah, great job. I saw a video once on his work, it was on the Disc. channel. LINK

Lots of young biologists trying to walk in his footsteps. I think if I were a young guy wanting outdoor adventure, this is the route I would take.
