According to ESPN's Keith Law, the Athletics have agreed to trade Gio Gonzalez to the Nationals for prospects A.J. Cole, Brad Peacock, Derek Norris and Tommy Milone.

Pretty big move for them.

very solid deal for the Nats. I like what they are doing. Still got a ways to go but like the team they are building

Yeah, this solidifies Braves as next to last in the division

I don't know about that. They have a pretty promising staff. As Freeman continues to develop and if Heyward rebounds, they'll be in the thick of things.

That is a pretty stout staff. Now if only they could hit.

Pretty damn good haul for the A's. I'm sure they would have loved another bat to be in the deal but outside of Harper and Rendon, the Nat's system is pretty low in stock for position players.

A lot of ifs, you forgot to mention no proven SS, Chip is another year older and Prado needs to bounce back because he will need to take over 3B(assuming we don't trade him) when Chip hits the bench 2 weeks in, JHey needs to reconstruct his swing, Hanson is going to be iffy to start the season, Moylan may not be around...a lot of ifs.

Next year Nats win the series (not this upcoming season but following)

Hate to trade Cole but ya gotta give to receive.

I love that the A's are loading up on prospects for the next few years to hopefully be good in the new stadium, however, I still think with some offense this team could've done something. I guess with the Rangers and Angels spending all this money, they decided to wait for the new stadium.

Day 1 of Spring Training is going to be a meet and greet party with all of us in name tags it seems.

the As are going to stink. they already lost their best power source on a team that really didnt have any.
and now the ace. And supposedly they are trying to trade Andrew Bailey

This team can hit more than people think. They could lead the NL in HRs. Plus their best hitters are all 30 and younger.
eta: strasburg, zimmerman, gonzalez are a stout trio. I like Detwiler as well.

And don't count them out for Prince either...
