they should beat N Texas and if they beat UVA before going into SEC play, they might actually crack the top 25.

If we beat Virginia it will be pretty darn high... UVA has had a really nice season and have beaten some solid teams.
There was a post on espn tigers page calling LSU the "real deal" and that the better team won in the Marquette game... I was a bit surprised.

Marquette is not all that. I watched them play Washington and it looked to me that two bottom-dwelling Pac12 teams were gumping it up.
Tony Bennett, coach at UVA, has an oustanding track rekkid and has won at Craptopolis places like Wash St. That ain't easy! If you've ver been to Pullman you'd understand what a tough sell that is.
A win vs UVA will carry way more weight come season's end.

Nah, but that won't be the end of the world.

Hopefully, we get into the tourney this year.
If not, I'm all for hiring Bruce Pearl! go ahead and bring the hate.

I like Pearl, but it will be two and a half more years before he is hireable.

Forget that, TJ is the man, a man with tough luck though- losing A. Dotson. All Dotson had to do is bring some experience toughness on D and make a FEW select shots and this team would be no doubt a tourney team. But it's going to be a little tough now but that still may make it.

Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound like I want TJ gone. I like what I am seeing this year and am glad he has gotten enough time to really start building the program the way he wants.
I just think Pearl is Dale Brown 2.0, which I love (not trying to pick a fight with anybody about Daddy Dale either).

You want to hire a coach that ISN'T ALLOWED TO RECRUIT until 2014?
Can't see how that plan could fail.

Screw it. We need to give TJ his chance. I am not totally sold on him yet but building a program doesn't happen over night.
What would be worse than keeping him a couple of years to long would be to keep him for say 3 years and then find out after he is fired that he laid the ground work and was poised to turn the corner only to be fired and have some scumbag come in and ruin it.
My understanding! His first priority has been facilities. He has that now and will now be increasing signing players now that he can actually sign numbers of guys worth signing. This strategy vs signing numbers of lesser ball players only to be out of shollys when you have actual recruiting ability.

the RPI will get better though.
ADMIN this thread should be taken down from the featured threads because the title is not accurate. the RPI number is going to change after every game.

If it should ever come to having to hire a new BB coach (and my hope is that it does not) we do not have to limit ourselves to Pearl or Dale Clones (of which frankly there is no such thing for many reasons), or the Johnny Jones/Butch template.
I know those tend to be names mentioned because of familiarity.
But they are certainly not the only types IMHO who could be successful here.
But I'm actually seeing some coaching from Trent that I like of late, things I've been waiting a long time to see...like actual under the goal in-bound plays, good defensive rotation, ball fakes and shot fakes on offense, execution against presses and the like. I hope to see more progress in that vein in the future.
Now when big teams start pounding it inside on us we all know Trent will absolutely not double the post. We'll see how that works out. Cause it's coming. We just haven't seen alot of teams with much post presence yet.

had you not bumped a 4 day old thread, it wouldn't matter.
