Agreed. I loved watching Wisconsin's offense the last couple years. Unlike Jim McElwain, Chyrst actually knows how to complement a nasty downhill power running game with a solid passing attack. That's why he's now at Pitt while Jim McElwain had to settle for a second-tier program in the Mountain West.

I really like this guy. Chryst was the guy I most wanted for OC when Crowton left. We had no shot, but he's so good. I wonder how him and Meyer will duel it out. Both could be searching for similar QBs. I think his system will serve him very well at Pitt. They just need a guy and they could be hugely successful.

Disagreed, just because a guy is a good coordinator, doesn't mean he'll be a good head coach.

Chryst is a great OC, but he's not known as a good recuiter (he's dull), and i'd question his QB evaluations since everyone he's brought to Wisconsin has stunk, so they've had to go after "free agents" like Russell Wilson, and now Dayne Crist.

And will he even call plays anymore (which is his strength) as HC, or will he let his OC call the plays?

This is almost as bad as Hawaii hiring 65 year old Norm Chow.

could be the perfect hire for that western pa mentality, that wisky style of football could beat up teams in the ACC recruiting for Pitt has never been the problem. Its always been coaching and just flat out under achieving

apparently fickle said no thank you and the boosters didn't want cristobal

I love his offensive style, but 2 major risk factors: (1) he has never been a head coach, so will he make a successful jump? and (2) can he recruit?

I do think his offensive philosophy meshes with Pitt.

Of course there are risks. Pitt has to take risks. They are Pitt.

Nick Saban, Les Miles and Urban Meyer were not exactly lining up for a chance to interview.

i like pitt's RB. he may put up 1800 yards if he can stay healthy in the wisky offensive system

he had 958 in essentially 7 games this year

they still need the hogs up front and a decent qb who can actually make other teams think they will throw the ball. If their verbals from this year stay on he will have an elite 11 qb and a stud rb to start his tenure with
