I believe that a lot of the Tigers success this year came from preparing for Oregon during the spring and summer. Our team's conditioning and ability to swap defensive platoons has been remarkable. Our guys have outlasted and worn down teams all season, much like in the 4th quarter and OT of the Bama game. There was even a rumor (or fact?) that Saban had put a few of their guys on diets.

Does anyone know if the Tigers are continuing that type of conditioning and high tempo at practices during this prep period?

Yes, they are doing the up tempo stuff they did in August prepping for the Oregon game.

Yes. Mascona had one of the guys from BBI on yesterday and they said Les has them working in the same up-tempo style they have been all year. That's been their routine all year and Les didn't want to change a thing.

Thanks and great to hear. I know I usually put on 5+ lbs during this time of year.

Today is their last day of practice and then they don't return till the 26th. And remember, these guys are pretty much well-oiled machines at this point. A few days of pigging out won't hurt them like it does you and I.

Most coaches are generally the same when it comes to bowl preparation. You get about three weeks of practice, so they use the first week much like the first couple of weeks of training camp. There is a ton of individual work where th basics are re-emphasized. When i was there, saban followed this type of preparation to the T. Miles also. It is also not uncommon to see a lot of full contact drills during this week because ofthe lack of a true game situation. The second week was a mixture of game plan and fundamental work and the third week was like a regular work week for the players. (i.e. Day 1 = light work day & game plan install, day 2 & 3 = heavy work day, day 4 clean stuff up work on situations of a game like 2 minute and things like that, day 5= walkthrough, day 6= play the game.)

All-in-all bowl practice was great anyway because the best part was that you got to practice and then donnothim for the rest of the time but rest, go home, etc.

It's beautiful to watch. The other team is all fired up at first and our runs usually don't go for all that much initially. But by the 4th we're gouging them for yardage almost every play and they just want it to be over.

A minimal amount of searching basing it on what few clues he provided gives me inclination he was either Deep Snapper or OL during the approximate period from 04 to 07....without a great deal of certainty. I lean more to the former position, though.

Yeah. If he wanted to post his name he would do it himself. Thats not your job to do. Who says he wants to be outed and not remain anonymous?
