A Cincinnati basketball player kicked a defenseless Xavier player in the head during a brawl Saturday, I'm curious to see what the NCAA/Big East/Cincinnati does in the way of suspension/expulsion.

Jefferson got four games from LSU for being accused of kicking someone in the head, an allegation that was confirmed by the grand jury (while not a felony he was indicted on a lesser charge, which had to do with the extent of the injury not the action of kicking someone in the head). Of course, we will never know what Jefferson's suspension (if any) would have been without the pending grand jury hearing because Miles reinstated him immediately.

Cincinnati's Head Coach indicated that some players may be kicked off the team during his post game pres conferences.

What was almost equally disturbing was the comment by one of Xavier's players after the game, which was something along the lines of "we've got a group of gangsters in our locker room."

It was also on national television during a game as opposed to being at a bar so that may carry some weight.

Why can this post stand, when i posted a similar post relating to Florida State Troopers dismissing charges/not even bringing charges against the Florida Gator Defensive end who fought someone from Alabama after Florida was destroyed on the field. The troopers justification was because there was conflicting statements and biased witnesses???? What gives? Why is this thread not whacked.

JJ was not suspended 4 games ... he was suspended until his legal issues were resolved.... had it taken longer, he would have remained on suspension.

LSU Suspended JJ, not the NCAA or the SEC. The JJ matter was not during a game or even on campus, these are two totally different scenarios.

I think my original post acknowledged that. He was suspended indefinitely, which turned out to be four games due to the legal process.

I also acknowledged that in my original post.

I agree that definitely makes it worse, but will still be interesting to see what comes out of it.

WTF? The allegation was no confirmed by a grand jury

The grand jury decided there was enough evidence to go to trial

JJ was heavily penalized even though nothing has been proven yet. That dipfrick on cincy is likely gonna get tossed off the team.

Incorrect, the grand jury indicted him of a misdemeanor battery charge. The grand jury did not indict him of the felony battery charge. The difference between the two was based on the extent of the injury that was suffered by the alleged victim. Common misconception, the grand jury found that he did kick someone in the head, but did not think the injury warranted a felony charge.

link to the details?

the grand jury indicted jordan jefferson on the charge of simple battery against lowery. where does it say that the grand jury said that jordan jefferson kicked lowery in the head? grand jury proceedings are confidential. only the finding are public.
