Said NBA put on hold for basketball reasons and the trade remains "on hold."

For BASKETBALL reasons? For BASKETBALL reasons? I shall eagerly await a better Chris Paul trade, NBA.

I could also see it having to do with the posturing by both players the Lakers were giving up to get the #1 PG in the league. That's not really hard to imagine.

Owners can't veto the trade. Owners can say they won't vote on the CBA if trade goes through. NBA buckles and we as fans get fricked. Great PR move

Yep. Players ratified this morning, owners ratified tonight around the time they bent Stern over the buffet table about this trade.

I haven't heard the CBA has been ratified therefore no trade can take place. This same deal should be able to get done tomorrow IMO becuase as long as the trade complies with the new CBA the NBA will have to let it happen.

It will probably be cleared by tomorrow due to the lockout just having ended. They probably have alot to work out with the deal just now being put into effect.

I'm sure Stern is looking into what they, as the ownership group, can do. They may very well be able to veto every move the franchise makes.
