I'd heard a lot of great things about the Uncharted series, so I picked up the first one the other day for $20. I've played the first several levels and I gotta say, I'm pretty unimpressed right now. Does the game get any better as the game progresses? Also, is Uncharted 2 a decided improvement over the first?

Does not compute.

It's a gorgeous game, but to me, very repetitive. I had so many instances where I just wanted to explore, but I had to kill 20 guys first.

If you don't like the first than you won't like the second.

It's an alright game, but just not really grabbing my interest like other games that were considered "game of the year" material in the past i.e Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed series, etc.

Uncharted isn't a RPG. I think you're confused.

I played it at a buddy's hour once. The 2nd one. Color me unimpressed.

Its not the kind of game where you can pick it up for an hour or two and have it blow you away or anything. The game is an above average shooter, but it makes it on its storyline. You have to play the game from beginning to end to get the full "experience"

The gameplay is good, but the writing/quality voice actors kept me more entertained.

Exactly. Love this series so much because it is like a good movie.

One of the reasons I have a PS3. Other games I get for 360

I'll be getting U3 later this month.

I finished U2 a few weeks ago. I actually like the 1st one a tad bit better.
