Miles' bowl record:
40-3
41-14
38-24
38-3
17-19
41-24

If you take away the 17-19 outlier, the rest of the games are blow outs. Taking into consideration that the 17-19 loss was on a horrible field which probably threw out a lot of the preparations for the game, no other coach in the country is better in potseason preparations.

Miles will have this team well prepared to play and win in style. #WINNING

Is it just me, or is the Tiger Nation incredibly relaxed over this game? Not only do we win, I think we win convincingly. Not a blowout, but we will win comfortably. I'm not worried at all. This team is to strong, and now way Maccaron beats our "D". It will not happen.

It is the ultimate test for this team. All the work our coaching staff and players have put in since Spring has paid off just the way they planned it would. Now they are at the final leg of their journey with many saying this might be one of the greatest college football teams of all time due solely to their schedule and domination of so many highly ranked teams on the road. If they can finish their season with a win over #2 Bama a 2nd time they will no doubt accomplish something no other team in college football history has ever attained. I'm feeling they will win this game, but it will be the toughest test so far.

Well, I stated the reason, didnt I? You go with a certain game plan and then find out you'll play an ol' mud ball game. That negates LSU's biggest advantage, which is speed.

They were also much worse teams that we played in order to get those numbers.

Miles will prepare the team better than Saban, but I think it comes down to the offense producing. If we just put in our special teams and defense we can score points, but I am nervous about our offense being inaffective. At the least, JJ needs to not make any mistakes (or jarrett lee, if he gets put in).

I don't see our offense being "ineffective". You can't have the stable of backs we have, receivers we have, and veteran QB we have to be ineffective. Can't we have some 3 and outs? Sure. But they will eventually get it going. Hopefully from start to finish.

Folks have been scared about "trap games" all year, and the Tigers have always won. There was fear about Arky--blew them out. There was fear about UGA--blew them out.

I have no fear of Bama.

the LAST time I heard so many people talking about Mile's PAST Bowl record.. it scared the crap out of me... and we LOST to Penn State.

LSU will win because they have the better team overall... it's DAMN close and very evenly matched, but LSU is better in Special Teams and (strike me down for saying it) - QB.

OL - even
DL - even
LBs - Bama
DBs - LSU

RBs - TR is the best of them all, but our 4 together are better than their 1, I believe.

QB - JJ is as good a passer as AJM... and he can run... slight advantage to LSU

Kicker - LSU
FG K - LSU
Punter - LSU

Punt returns - LSU

Kick returns - Bama

If LSU have ZERO turnovers in this game and can cause at least 1 resulting in points I think there is little chance that LSU doesn't win.

That's MY opinion... but I'm sticking with it.

I'd actually agree that it is an outlier:

Agree, there's not much to "fear" in my opinion. And I know there's more to it, and it's easier said than done, but....Shut down Richardson and make Maccaron beat out secondary/"D". Not going to happen. I'll take that match up all day. We got this.

Miami and Georgia Tech were both favored to beat LSU. GT was being hyped as the lock of the bowl season, and we absolutely blew them out of the building.

With a month to prepare, there is no coach I would rather have than Les Miles in all of college football. No one.

Well, they were worse because we put a beatdown on them. Here are the rankings heading into the game:
LSU-Opponent
#10-#9
#4-#11
#2-#1
Unranked-#14
#11-#18

I think past yrs performances are way overblown.
Teams change, situations change.

If I was to concern myself with anything in the past about beating alabama the only thing I'd consider would be Nov5th 2011,,,,, eveythign else you mention doesnt mean anything.

I agree 100%, I was just pointing out that the cap one loss is an outlier.

Im not so confident. Its tough to beat a good team once. Its much more difficult to beat them a second time. LSU is more likely to go in to this game overly confident haven beaten them at home. Bama is more likely to come in to this game with a chip on their shoulder.

Psychology is huge in sports. I think they have the advantage there for about the first quarter/half. Thats about it. LSU rolls in the second half and wins by 21 with the support of an electric crowd in the dome.
