stocking vs full boot waders

I was wondering you guys opinions on these types if you could only buy one. Price is some what of a factor but not a big one, b.c. if I get a crappy pair the first run then I'll end up spending more anyway.
I'll be mostly duck hunting in them out of Wax and Big Branch, I know these are two different environments, but it is what it is.
I found a discussion here: LINK Which pretty much states full boot for sandy conditions and stockings for muddy conditions.
Your thoughts?

Are you saying you won't wear shoes if you go stocking feet?

well of course I will wear shoes if I got stockings. I didn't think that would be an option, to not wear shoes.
I'm just asking in you guys experience, does one leak more than the other, or any bad experiences with either.

Oh ok. I used to wear cleats 3 sizes to big when I had stocking feet in the 90's.
Then I got a pair of boot feet and never considered going stocking again. The key with the boot feet is the amount of thinsulate in the boot. That and it's just easier to deal with. Mine always leak in the crotch before the boot to neopreme connection would give you any problems.

I have both.
I only use my stocking waders for fly fishing now.
I find the boot waders easier to get on unless you get the stocing waders so large that the feel all bunched up on your feet in the boots.
I also hate to have to unlace the boots which are necessary with stocking waders in cold wet weather. It is so much easier to just step out of the boot waders and never have to touch the icy muddy boot. Also there are no laces or lace protectors to pick burrs and thorns out of later with full boot waders.
The full boot waders are however easier to get stuck in the mud when walking since they dont fit as tight on your feet, so if youhave to go a long way in gumbo muck...
While you are at it go full chest with wide neoprene shoulder straps. Also look for reinforced knees and butt, since climbing in and out of stands and boats can be reall tough on them.

I have both as well. I really wouldn't consider the boot foot for hunting.

I've only had the full boot waders. Never really had a problem.

Thinking one thing and typing something else.
I wouldn't think of using the stocking foot for hunting.
Sorry about any confusion.

I use stocking foot and good wading boots for everything. I find them much more comfortable to walk in than full boot.

Wading in BB is one of he most miserable experiences I have ever had. I was wearing boot foot canvas material and was able to move around slowly, my friend wearing neoprene canvas got stuck. I literally had to dig him out with a paddle.
Also, carry a walking stick when wading through that crap. If you fall face first, you wont be able to push off the bottom to get air..Just a thought.
Having said all that, I would never go back to stocking foot waders.
