Beating a team twice in the same year....

People (Saban, etc..) say that it is very difficlt to beat a team twice in the same year, but I don't really understand that. What is the rationale for that?
- We've proven that we can beat them in their house
- Bama players and a good number of the media have already proclaimed that they are the better team. They just lost, the Tigers didn't win. (LSU still has something to prove).
- We have them with a slight home field advantage this time and on artifical turf.
What makes it more difficult?

Saban had also never lost games to the same coach back to back.. until this NOv 5th that is

watching game tape of your team playing that team >>>>>>>>>> game tape of that team playing someone else.
you can see what worked against them and what didn't and then determine how to attack the defense/offense and what adjustments they will likely make.

Bobby bowden says the coach of the losing team has an easier time getting his team motivated for the rematch

I was lurking on TideFans and they proudly brought up that tricky was 14-1, or something like that, in "revenge" games. Of course, they didn't bring up who the "1" was.

this is just an old NFL cliche' that keeps getting trotted out.
LSU also has the same game film to see what worked and didn't work against Bama.
I think LSU wins by double digits.

I don't see either team being "motivated" any differently on January 9 than they were on November 5.
Bama will be tight and motivated.
LSU will be a bit looser and motivated.

FSU beat Florida at the end of the regular season and then got skull drug by Weurffel in the Sugar for the national title. Bowden probably knows what he is talking about in this regard.
Edit: Ironically, that rematch for the national title, ultimately led to the BCS being formed. FSU was supposed to play Arizona State for the title but ASU was contractully obligated to play in the Rose Bowl (Pat Tillman and Jake Plummber were on that team).
Funny how cyclical this world is...BCS formed to not have another rematch and 15 years later, it promotes a rematch of teams from the same division of the same conference (at least UF and FSU won their respective conferences that year).
