Has he become a first ballot HOF. What say you?

Absolutely.

Not even a doubt.

He hasn't won an MVP Award yet and I have doubts he'll ever be selected for one. That would be enough for some to keep him out on the first attempt. Why? In some convoluted logic, he couldn't be listed in the same discussion with his peers who won MVP awards like Manning and Brady. When Rodgers wins the MVP this year, it will be another notch against Brees.

I don't think that will matter much, and not at all, if he can win another super bowl.

Edit to add: I see where it was based upon him retiring today. Probably not a first ballot IMHO in that case.

It probably won't, but I've seen some convoluted reasoning used against players who should be no-brainers for any hall of fame.

Ain't that the truth. One of the things Drew has going for him is that he appears to be well liked and respected around the league.

It's hard to guarantee first round ballot. There are just too many odd decisions by the HOF committees.

this will be his 6th probowl.

he is a superbowl MVP.

he breaks a new quarterback record or comes close to it every single season.

he would have mvp's if it weren't for peyton manning.. a guy he has beaten h2h. hello...

or tom brady.. a guy he has beaten h2h as well.

his run in the playoffs was as great as you can get in 2009. no interceptions.

he took a new orleans team coming off what 2 wins? and took them to the NFC championship in his first season.

IYO, was Chris Carter a 1st round ballot HOFer? I thought so, yet here we are.

I listen to these HOF voters all the time on NFL radio. Some are disgusted that Carter isn't in and some say he shouldn't be in at all.

If he keeps it up for a few more years, he is a lock for 1st round HOF. But if he retires now? Tough call.

To me, the biggest atrocity for any hall of fame is that Ray Guy isn't in the Professional Football Hall of Fame. He was not only the greatest punter of all time, but arguably one of the greatest players of all time.

I actually agree.. I think this season and next locks it up. Especially if he gets to Unitas' record.

Lots of people agree with you. But I've heard plenty of voters say they will not vote in special teamers.
