I don't care who goes #2 tonight, but all these threads and discussions about numbers, polls, voters, computers, etc is freaking stupid. This is a ball game, let the teams play and decide on the field. Giving all these people in polls ( who picks these guys anyways ) and computers with different formulas, some which are hidden, is so freaking idiotic. The BCS needs to go.

It's better than the old system when the top teams would all play in different bowls.

How do you suggest we choose the 4,8, or 16 teams that decide on the field? Opinion polls and computers?

This. LSU would have no 2003 championship without the BCS. The 2007 one would've been in doubt too.

Adults discussing math is a good example for the
Children of America.

i liked Danielson's idea that he presented during the game yesterday about having a six team playoff and an actual committee that pays attention to all the games that picks the teams, instead of fricking computers and coaches and sports writers that clearly dont watch very many games

Yeah because Cindy Luis from Honolulu probably does a good job of keeping up with football to vote weekly in the Harris Poll. UGH, who picks these people. She is a VOLLEYBALL reporter for the Honolulu newspaper.

Yea I don't mind Gary's idea as far as a committee goes. But, his bracket was basically just the NFC or AFC playoff bracket

The BCS is the greatest thing to ever happen to CFB.

It should be decided by people who actually care and pay attention and review all the games that are played. Right now we've got coaches who don't give a damn, except if their team needs a vote, the Harris poll, which consists of random people from all over the place, who are all biased and don't make consistent, nor logical decisions a lot of the time, and computers, which are a mystery in so many ways. That doesn't make sense to me. We should have people, perhaps a committee, who's job is to decide the top 6 or 8 or hell 16 teams and let them play a playoff. Or even simpler, let the conference champs play in a playoff. It isn't that hard. Right now, we are talking about how many points in the coaches poll, decimal points in the computers, and the mystery of the Harris poll. When did we all become accountants??? This is stupid.

It's between Bama and Okie St. Both can present a good argument. It's not a situation deserving of this kind of drama.
