Containment Fence for dogs

Ok, I have a 5 month old lab that is in the house and it is time for her to go outside. Problem is my yard is not fenced on one side. Being that is is hunting season I really don't feel like wasting a weekend building a fence, so I am thinking about getting this.
Now onto my question. Will I still be able to train with an e-collar or will she just simply shut down when I take her away for training and put the e-collar on. Something tells me that she will not be able to separate the two, or will she?

No Idea. Seems like every lab i've worked with was smart enough to eventually figure out not to go near that area if they are getting popped. You can probably get her to distinguish the difference, just do some observing through a window.

What I don't want to happen is when I take her in the field to work with her and put the collar on that she thinks she is inside the area and in turn stop short on retrieves and what not. I imagine with enough work she will figure out when she can roam and when she can't.

The one I installed for my beagle didn't work. She would just gut through the pain and come across. When she would see us with that collar in our hand though she would run and hide.........become real docile..................

They work well in keeping your dog in, but you have to make sure you check the batteries in the collar. They know when they go dead.
Not sure about mixing the e-collar with the fence collar. I think you should be able to do both.

It is more of a temporary fix until hunting season is over and I build a fence. I'm tired of hearing the beak at home telling me every waking second that she needs to go outside.

I use this system for my dogs. It works great. I also take it camping to keep em from running off.
