With the BCS title game on January 9th.

If the Saints were to host a home playoff game is it possible they'd play on the Sunday January 8th or would they automatically play on Saturday January 7th?

Just wondering if this has come up in years past.

Plus the Sugar is right before that too.

Wonder how that affects field conditions.

Just wondering if they would have a home playoff game and BCS title game within 24 hours.

Makes it difficult when planning for New Orleans, hotels etc.

It would be pretty fricked up if hotel space cost the saints a home game during the playoffs. It wouldn't happen

If it's Bama playing, there will be hotel space available, not so sure about motel space though.

If you go look for hotels in N.O. that weekend, you will understand now why the prices are why they are and most properties are asking for 3 and 4 night minimums, etc.

Going to be an awesome weekend in the city for sure.

How full are the hotels for a Saints home game to begin with?

Not bad normally. Depends on what else is going on in town that weekend.
Sunday nights gets a little fuller most times.

I'm pretty sure for the night game last month, the Hyatt and all 1200 of their rooms were sold out. That was a busy weekend in the city for whatever reason.

If the Saints were to host the game as the 3 seed it would be played on Sunday the 8th.

If they were to host the wildcard matchup it would be Saturday the 7th. If they finish #1 or 2 seed in NFC they dont play until the following weekend.

January 7th, 2012
AFC Wildcard #1 vs AFC Wildcard #4

NFC Wildcard #2 vs NFC Wildcard #3

January 8th, 2012
AFC Wildcard #2 vs AFC Wildcard #3

NFC Wildcard #1 vs NFC Wildcard #4

But seriously.. New Orleans hosts Mardi Gras.. If it can hold enough people for that then 2 football games where 2 of the teams reside in the state of louisiana already shouldnt be an issue.
