1- Gumps have 2 wins over current bcs top 25, OSU has 4 and 5 if they beat OU*

2- gumps have 3 wins vs teams with winning records, OSU 7 *

3- OSU will have won biggest game it played this season to win conference championship. Gumps lost game of the century where they were at home with "better offense and defense"

4- the only are where the gumps can truly claim an advantage is that LSU way better that ISU

5- gumps best win arkansas likely better than ou. OSU' kstate and baylor better than state penn, and texas-mizzou-allbarn a toss up.

I have no problem with a rematch if the teams are CLEARLY the two best, but in this case I don't think its clear that the gumps have accomplished more over the course of the season. Numbers seem to point to OSU

The SEC schedule Bama played is much, much more difficult.

Wel, I think you lay out a good reason for a voter to vote OSU over Bama. I think Bama is the "better" team, however.

Please stop with the numbers and the resumes'. If you have any football knowledge, look at the two teams, who is better? Bama, as much as I hate to admit it, it is the truth.

You'd think ESPN would do their job and point that out. Instead, Brad Edwards chokes on the elephant penis in his butt.

not according to the computers. The computers have loved the Big 12 all year and OSU is currently #2 in the computer poll

Yes, and Ohio State and Michigan were clearly the best 2 teams in the country.

No one knows this shite unless they play. That's the whole point.

So hypothetically if LSU were to beat bama in a rematch and OSU were to beat OU and win their BCS bowl, would everybody still vote for Bama as #2 in the final poll?

I think Penn State is garbage this year. I can't believe they are ranked. It will be suprising if they win their bowl game.

They haven't beat anyone good and they haven't looked good regardless.

So now all we have to do is "know" one team is better? Like ohio state and Michigan in 06? They both got their arse beat.

Everyone does realize that Brad Edwards and Reece Davis went to Bama? Davis appears to hide his homerism and play the show host pretty well. Edwards is a total gump.

I agree that in watch both teams, bama looks like the better team....though not without any doubt.

In most years, I'd give the Bama plays the SEC schedule a lot of creedence. This year? Ole Miss and Tennessee were VERY weak. Vandy, MSU and Florida were .500 teams that we're up and down, and Allbarn had a winning record, but was also rather average.

I think it is suprising that voters are so quick to just dismiss the champion of the strongest conference (according to computers) to allow for a rematch.

Personally I am not sure the SEC is that good this year. LSU and Bama are great. Arkansas might be decent. The rest of the conference is blah (I think USC would be really good with Lattimore; Shaw is also coming along).

This would be like setting up a playoff system and changing midway through to eliminate one side of the bracket.

Are you referring to Tenn? Or ole miss? Or Florida? Or state? Or who exactly?

Lsu obviously was bama's toughest game, which they lost. And arky is event but overrated. Arky beat no one with a pulse.

So, while most of the country might give Bama the check on the eye test, if you look at what they have actually accomplished it is close to slightly favoring OSU.

At that point, trying to pick between two similar teams I think you can reasonable include conference finish.
