Need help identifing an old movie

Plot was about a GI captured in WW2 and the Germans tried to convince him that he had been in a coma and now the war was over. They had him in a US lookalike hospital and all the nurses and dr's spoke perfect English. Once they had convinced him that the war was over they were going to try to get US plans from him. Would have worked except the day before he had a paper cut on his finger. Late in the movie he figured out the paper cut and remembered that it was yesterday and the German plot failed. A good movie but probably 25 years old. Help!!

I don't know but it's based on a short story. We read it in HS English class years ago.
