I wonder how much Ensminger talks to JJ/JL about his QB years at LSU

considering he lived through much the same type of controversy that they are going through. Virtually the entire 1979 season the fanbase was split and screaming for either Woodley or Ensminger and kind of the same issues. Ensminger was strictly a pocket passer while Woodley was the better runner. Funny how history repeats itself.

Good point. The thing with Ensminger and Woodley (God rest his soul) is that one or the other usually played the whole game. It wasn't as much a platoon thing as we have now. Big "E" could throw w the best of them. Woodley was a good passer and runner. Ensminger played all the snaps early in his college career and then Woodley got the majority towards end of his college career - as I recall.

Remember it well...
10 games in that team was 6-4, finishing the season 7-5.
You would think this team being 10-0 would negate the same type of QB controversy. However, anyone who's been on the rant knows that isn't the case.
