Very few people saw this because the FSU/Miami game was a stinker. However, this hit towards the end of the game is worth seeing... partly because Bradham was kicked out of the game.

I'd like to hear some opinions. Are the refs getting way out of hand?

Nigel gets the Burfict treatment, because he often hits people hard late, and is just a ferocious hitter.

Nigel hit the guy with his shoulder into the guy's chest, and had a foot on the ground. Wasn't helmet to helmet nor launching, pretty weak from the officials.

Stanford had another bogus PF hit go their way again tonight as well.

On that same note, there is this one black commentator, cant remember his name, but he calls a lot of Pac 10 games who slobs all over these late hits. He wants defenders penalized each hard hit, anytime someone gets close to a head. Regardless if the offensive player lowers his own head into the hit. It is just pathetic.

I'm fine with the flag, but clearly he shouldn't have been kicked out of the game. They should review the play like they do in the NBA with flagrant fouls.

Looked clean. He hit with his shoulder, not helmet. This great game of football is being ruined by this bullshite. UT had an even worse call against them today

What would you even throw the flag for? Hitting a defenseless receiver? Nigel timed the hit extraordinarily, he got there literally same time as the ball and dislodged the ball with the hit.

That is completely on the QB for throwing such a horrid pass and hanging his WR out to dry over the middle against a Ronnie Lott type hitter.

Another question is, after FSU submits a review on this play to the ACC do they get issued an apology for the poor call and subsequent unjust ejection of said player?

Ref should be demoted to HS football. Ejecting someone for that is unexplainable.

I agree. It seems the refs will always throw a flag now if its a big hit regardless if its legal or not. That was a very clean hit IMO but since the WR got knocked out the refs end up punishing the defender for it.

Looked like a clean hit to me. No reason to even throw a flag.

So what got him tossed, the launching, or just that his hit resulted in the WR being hurt?

You think that if the medical staff wasn't out there attending to what seemed a pretty injured player then he wouldn't have been ejected?

I've been noticing late hits/hits out of bounds calls being more and more questionable, too. If I'm a LB or DB and there is any doubt you're out of bounds, you're getting hit. It seems the refs don't quite understand this.

Today alone, Texas/MO, TCU/Boise, and FlaST/Miami all had horrible PF calls fro hitting the reciever.

IT is ruining the sport.

That was clearly a clean hit, not penalty worthy, and certainly not ejection worthy. Those refs need to be fined heavily.

Receiver getting knocked the frick out + ref stupidity.

He didn't help his cause by arguing over the flag while the receiver was laying on the ground with what appeared to be a potentially serious injury.

He had every right to argue, injury or not.
