I'm in my mid twenties and just moved near Newman Uptown by Tulane. What bar can I patronize that will not be overrun with HS kids and Tulane/Loyola students? I realize based on location that may be impossible.

I'm already aware of Fat Harry's, TJ's, Bruno's, and The Boot. Bruno's is probably only place i'd go on that list.

I like Neutral Ground the most. No, it's not a bar that serves alcohol, but it is a great place to hang. There's Cure on Freret, but that place is so stuck up its own nose, I don't know if I could recommend it. Finn McCool's is about five minutes away if you take Nashville to Jeff Davis then to Banks. But I do not condone drinking and driving, so if you go, don't drink.

Finn's is my bar of choice, but driving is an obstacle.

I was hesitant about Cure, and your impression confirmed my fears.

Haven't you learned to take his opinion extremely lightly. Cure is a nice bar with great liquor & mixed drinks and knowledgeable bartenders. It isn't a place you go with your friends to grab a drink and watch a game. It is a nice place to go on a date or with another couple.

If I were half as cool as the people at Cure think that they are I would be, well Glassman

I haven't been, but this seems to be the consensus.

Is it a place I could go on a week night alone and have a drink at the bar and check out some babes?

I haven't ever been to cure. I only drink beer and wine. With an occasional shot of Jameson to celberate an Arsenal victory at Finn's.
