Has a punter/kicker ever had as much superstar status at LSU...

as Brad Wing? Or at any other school for that matter? From completely pinning back Oregon in the opening game, to his fake punt antics, his taking pics with chicks on the sideline, and his clutch punt against Bama, I can't recall any kicker being as well known amongst the fans and media. Not to mention he's only a freshman.

Other than Janakowski, I don't recall anyone getting as much love as Wing.

I think Colt David was pretty well loved. Jasper too. Wing just has more swag than I've ever seen in a kicker.

I think Colt David against SC in that '07 game, and Jasper in that Florida fake FG. The 2 best kickers IMO.
But punters? Wing has to be the most notorious one IMO.

First, he's an entertaining character that became infamous with the taunting call. Aside from the, the guy has been as big a part of LSU's success this season as any player on the team. His ability to alter field position has been so huge.

Wing walked over to the stands and took a picture with 2 girls while the game was going on. He is a major badass/dumbass.

The kid is extremely confident. He's always on the sidelines laughing and smiling. His taunting call made him more famous than if he would've scored the TD IMO.

Seems like I remember Donnie Jones for Heisman shirts/posters. Or was it Corbello? I can't remember but it was one of 'em. LSU has had a run of Great kickers and punters. But no, none come close to the swag/skill/popularity of Brad Wing... AKA Crocodile Puntee
