Watched this the other night and it seems to me that they just kinda threw this thing together so they could go ahead and start on The Avengers. It was ok I guess but it could have been way better IMO.I thought Thor was way better than Captain America. Thoughts??

I was not overly impressed. They did try really hard on the backstory, I'll give them that. But I felt like I was watching a cartoon or a video game once he went to Europe.

This. You hit the nail on the head with that one.

Best superhero movie of the Summer. I'd say best sci-fi, but Planet of the Apes dominated that category.

That's when I ejected the disc and brought it back to Redbox.

Pretty good breakdown. Are they really going ahead with this whole Avengers deal? I think it's going to terrible. These plots are already bad, I can't imagine trying to cram every superhero in on top of that

It's...a....comic book. And it comes from a time when comic books were down right cheesy. It nailed the atmosphere perfectly.

I agree.

I enjoyed this movie, a lot more than I thought I would.

Cannot WAIT for the Avengers.

I guess. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from my comic book movies.

A little character development on his team would have helped also.

I didn't really dig it, but I was never a Captain America fan anyway.

I thought it was pretty good and better than Thor imo, though I'm not much of a Thor fan.

The thing I didn't like is that he went into the future before doing much really. I suppose he had to for the sake of the Avengers movie, but I would have liked to see more development. Cap is a legend in the comics the hero that many of the other superheroes try to emulate. That wasn't captured at all.

Also, should not have killed off Red Skull if they intend to do more movies. He is as essential to Captain America as Cap is himself.

I liked it but I am not a fan of super technology in the past. It is one thing to have the cosmic cube but if Red Skull could invent all the weaponry and futuristic planes, then he really didn't need the cube in the first place.

It's the James Bond villain syndrome.
