Where are some good spots to try to set up LSU tailgate for the day? Free or paid? Where will gameday be set up at?

Don't know if its still there, but we parked at a convienance store about 4 blocks from the stadium. There was some sort of parking lot right next to it. Paid 10 bucks a vehicle. Good times, and this was in 01. Not far from the strip either.

Tailgating at Central High School?
Seriously, the whole point of tailgating at any college game is to be on campus soaking up the college experience. Do yourselves a favor and don't relegate your tailgating to the scraggly area around Central High School. Your best option is to set up anywhere on campus in the grassy areas adjacent to just about any campus building.
P.S. You may want to check out the mini "Quad" area of the new Science and Engineering complex. Last time I walked through there during the Tennessee game Saturday there is a lot of nicely brand new manicured lawn in this area. I think because there is some construction going on there that a lot of people don't realize it's available. Check this area out on a campus map. You're welcome btw.

Any large groups putting on a tailgate where you can buy a wirstband for food and drink? Believe the group formerly know as HATT did this 2 years ago.

In 07 we tailgated in a lot on the corner of Hackberry & Pual Bryant Dr.
In 09 we were along Hackberry by some church.

The quad is not bad. Around the baseball field but it might be paid. I usually park at the other end of University Blvd around downtown.

I should mention that you can't park close to this Science and Engineering Quad. Sorry I didn't clarify that. There is a convenient FREE parking space at the Campus Drive exit off of McFarland. This is the exit just past Univ Boulevard exit. You'll see a Hampton Inn and Bob Baumhower's Wings Sports Grill right when you get off the exit. If you get off the exit and stay straight on the off ramp the exit ramp dead ends into Campus Drive. This is the case on both sides of McFarland and DOZENS of cars park on the on/off ramp access lanes of this exit. It's FREE and you only have about a 250 yard walk to one of the main shuttle pick up/drop off points. It's perfect for people who have set up a tailgate somewhere on campus already and they have to shuttle back and forth to pick up extra supplies from their car.
Do a google earth search of McFarland Boulevard/Campus Drive exit and you'll see the access lanes I'm talking about. The shuttle pick up point is at the intersection closest to the softball stadium. It's about a 5 to 10 minute shuttle ride (with a couple of stops) from there to the Quad/stadium. You'll probably have to park there by early Saturday (probably no later than 12 or 1 PM) to ensure that all the space isn't gone. There are probably 150 or so cars that park FREE along the access lanes of the exit

Is the "mini" quad and the quad different places? On our way to t-town now.
