"We have a great deal of speed and want in our defense. The advantage sometimes is the ability to maneuver into a spot and make a tackle. The advantage is in strength and quickness and not necessarily in size."

quote:

"The play you run 50 times is the one you win with," Miles said. "You know all the adjustments. That's the play you win games with. A play with a wrinkle, you only call once. After that time, it's done with. You have to be a team that prepares the next call well."

quote:

"There are times as a coach you enjoy the enthusiasm of your team. If you can't recognize their youth and their want to play, at least for me that's a mistake. We put in a lot of work. At some point, it's time to play and have fun."

One has to admire and appreciate the fun and enthusiasm that Miles has in what he does. I would expect that LSU will be looser and less uptight about the game than Bama will be because of Miles' attitude that this kind of game is actually fun. Saban, as good as he is, never seems to appreciate the simple joy of playing the game. That may ultimately be Miles' "secret weapon."

i have been mega pissed at Miles a few times. but shite, i've learned that he's worth his occasional goof up.

he could stay at LSU until the end of his career and i would be happy with it

It would take more then one person to tackle Trent regardless of team. Our advantage is our tacklers get their faster then anyone else

With the game fast approaching, I was real worried that our guys might be too small to handle Bama's offense. After reading that quote, I feel more at ease that Trent will not run roughshod all over our defense.

I think this one was toward the end of his press conference. He had some other great lines around that time in his presser too.

Miles' attitude versus Saban's is one of the reasons that I think Miles' coaching career will last a lot longer. The stress can be a killer. Saban should probably retire soon with his many millions and enjoy a relatively stress-free life.

Please tell. I love watching the video of Miles leading the Tigers out against Oregon and Tennessee.

LSU players play to win for Les....Bama players (or Saban players) play not to lose for fear of Saban...

Regardless of the outcome (and I do think LSU wins), who would you want to play for? That's an easy answer for me!!
