Now that LSU is in the spotlight, our former players are getting more attention... Jackson and Dorsey were called out last night as being MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENTS. Since the Chief's are loaded with SEC talent, I can't help but keep up with them and our former players. Each year, I want to believe they will each mature into a solid contributor. I now wonder if they can last much longer in KC. Thought?

Dorsey was one of the most dominant college DT's I've ever seen and they turned him into a 3-4 DE. You negate all of the qualities that made him a unique and dominating player and ask him to just eat up blockers. It's just bad player management, much like Shannahan trying to turn Haynesworth into a 3-4 DE.

I'm not sure how Jackson is a disappointment. They reached way early for a guy who was maybe the 3rd or 4th best defensive lineman on LSU's team his senior year.

It's not like the Patrick Peterson situation where he was clearly the best player at that position in the entire draft. They made a horrible pick with Jackson and have to live with the consequences.

And the Dorsey pick wasn't much better. He is an undersized DT that had knee problems after getting chop blocked.

There is a reason John Gruden is watching the game and not coaching.

I'm midly surprised Dorsey hasnt had more success but not overly surprised due to his knee issues.

I'm not even a little surprised about Tyson.

This. should have been traded when they switched schemes. He's not a fit for that defense. put him in a4-3 and he could be a poor man's warren sapp.

Jackson is exactly what he was always billed to be. a solid strong side run stopper with some ability to get tot he passer--your DEs in this defense are never going to have big sack numbers. its not his fault that he was taken too high.

eh, there are very few superstars in the NFL. they probably think Marcus Spears is a disappointment too. just ESPN yet again looking to fill air time with whatever they can.

Dwayne Bowe has turned out pretty well for da Chiefs. He was getting props during last night's broadcast.

exactly. but you never hear about Bowe in association w/ LSU. or Kevin Faulk. or Corey Webster. or Spears. all players who have been solid to contributors year in and year out.

they harp on the negative stuff they can find because it's "controversial." bunch of hacks.

His turning down coaching jobs and not interviewing for open spots is that reason.

Exactly the point I'm making. They don't know what an organization thinks of a player.

I used to think so, but I'm not sure if I buy it any more.

They are both just average players IMO. Crennel coaches multiple DEs to Pro Bowls in New England.
