do you remember how they used to beat us, embarass us and always stick it in our faces that they were Kings of the South year after year.

Wouldn't pay back at Bryant Denny be sweet? Doesn't a victory over them mean just a little bit more after all those butt kickings by the Bears boys?

I think kicking Florida's butt after Spurrier used to curb stomp LSU is actually a better feeling.

Maybe if Spurrier was still there. Hey we love pay back.

Now we need to get Bama and Arkansas

that's because you are probably 20 years younger than Jeaux

But I agree with both that each of those teams had their number on us for a decent time frame...I'd love to make this the LSU time frame against other teams

This is our time! I went to the LSU Bama game in 1974 in Birmingham when they won 30 - 0. One local yokel told me a HS team from there could beat us. Revenge is ours

As much as I hate bama fans and bama culture, I don't remember any of their teams or coaches doing anything unsportsman-like or assholish. I don't believe they ever ran up the score on us when we were down, or anything like that. In fact, I think Bear and Charlie McClendon were actually really good friends.

Far as I know, they never had a Spurrier or Tubberville streak in them. It's just their insane inferiority-complex fans who violate the rules of human decency.

I am 50 years old and remember many a butt kicking by Bear and his boys. Glad to say that I was sitting in Legion Field in the upper deck when we finally got the Bear with the Dalton and James gang and Alan Risher at the helm and a tough defense. But would be so much sweeter to get them again now at Bryant Denny.

Jeaux, I'm scared to say how much...That was like the only LSU game we used to get on tv in our neck of the woods... Bear and Cholly...

I remember the Bama fans coming to Baton Rouge acting like they owned the place (because they did on the field). At one point, they would bring close to 30,000 fans. I remember one year where it almost looked like 50/50 LSU to Bama fans.

I never have liked Alabama. I can't stand that redneck God awful accent. I can't stand the generic color combination. I can't stand the fact that they mic their band. I hate their fight song, and most importantly I don't care for the state of Alabama at all.

i'm not an older poster, but did the arrogance go somewhere?

They still act as if Alabama is in the old Bear glory days. As if they are still the dominant SEC program. I guess it'll take another decade of dominance over them to stem some of that arrogance. We are 9-3 against them since 2000.

Shouldn't judge a school and program by the actions of one numbskull, as we hope others don't do the same with us. We've all got a few out there fans.

Yes,the victory will be sweeter against them in BDS, and on their turf.
I can't wait to hear Paul Feinbaum cry on his show the weeks after this defeat.

My mom is from Alabama, and they do think they're a step above the rest, quoting the bear with that "the cream always comes to the top" stuff.

We'll turn that cream into butter, and fry up something good for our victory meal.

older poster here,54. It was not so much as the arrogance, it was just the feeling deep down that no matter how good LSU was ant year that we would probably still lose to bama, thank God those days are over, please
