John Lackey to have Tommy John Surgery

According to Gordon Edes Twitter. Things aren't getting any better for the Red Sox, but then again, maybe having Lackey out is a good thing.

I'd rather pay him to do nothing then watch him be terrible and yell at our fielders.

If only the Sox could pull a Lackey and cut him during the surgery

The only thing I'm not happy about in regards to this is that we wont be able to trade him or at least explore that possibility.
It got to the point where I would rather Papi pitch than Lackey in the second half. I hope a young guy can step up and claim a spot in the rotation.

Aceves/Miller/Doubront/Weiland/etc.
Best possible scenario is at least 1 guy steps up with a 4.50 ERA 10-12 W season with the studs returning to form and after next year maybe Lackey and Dice K can bounce back and be luxuries.
