Do any of the wmas in south la or ms offer quail or any upland game hunting? If so, which ones are best to bring kids?

Sandy Hollow is managed for upland birds and the land looks great, but the kids will be disappointed with the results (and so will you.) I have good dogs and have moved a handful of wild coveys on that property over a number of years. I use it for a place to work the dogs; the chance of finding ANY quail is slim. You would be better off chasing woodcock, or if just shooting is your goal, a pay hunt...

Quail are pretty much gone anywhere in south LA or MS. Fire ants was what I was told.

A good day in central La is 10 quail. Hardly worth a couple guy's time.

If you have access good days in cental La and want to hunt, have dogs and will travel. I do it for the dog, nothing like a covey flush...
