I keep hearing/reading about it so much. Does it really exist?! If so, who in the past/present has spent the longest time in there?

Ford = being protected for Nov 5. Think outside running game because running between tackles is hard against that team. Think speed to the outside vs power to the inside.

Hope Ford is out of doghouse before Bama. Him running sweeps are beautiful to watch! I just wish Ford would hit the holes straight on when he runs up the middle instead of hopping around.

That is probably why Miles doesn't use him as much. He doesn't finish runs and is TERRIBLE in pass blocking.

It's a good thing receivers don't get pulled for dropping balls, DBs don't get pulled for missing tackles, and QBs don't get pulled for forgetting the playclock.

I just love how everyone piles on the guy for being subject at passblocking.

So you got 3 main backs, all are good enough to get you yards, one is noticeably worse in passing situations. Which one are you going to play?

T-bob isnt a bad player, but there is a reason why he is more of a swing player for depth.

Our wrs arent bad, but there is a reason we throw to obj and randle the most.

The coaches play who they feel are the best players. They always have and always will.

I have no problem with he coaches making the educated decision of playing one back over another.

What I don't understand is the myriad of posters arguing as if they know beyond a shadow of a doubt why someone is not getting PT. This is just very reminiscent of Keiland's "fumbling problem."

Every single time he is in, he almost gives up a sack on blocking. It happened yesterday and he ate dirt during the pass play. Regardless what people might think, blocking is every bit as important as his running ability. Ware gets the nod because he is a more complete back. Right now, I think Ford has better vision than Ware and more burst but Ware is a better receiving back and blocker. He also finishes runs and we know how much Miles loves the big backs...

i love how you say "all are good enough to get you yards" as if blue and ford (or ware, for that reason) are equal in this regard

sure blue can get you yards, but ford can get you LOTS of yards

it's important, but it's nowhere close to his running ability

this isn't really ware v ford. it's blue v. ford

Kinda like he "almost" (ETA: loses) fumbles?

Okay... no. Is it important? Sure. Ford is getting better and better as a blocker. Even the play he got blown up on yesterday, he at least got in the way and gave Lee the time he needed to get the ball out

Sure... no one's saying Ford should start over Ware... just that he should get the bulk of the platooned carries. And Ford doesn't get enough credit as a passcatcher. Lee's been drilling the ball into the turf on swing passes to Ford.

Not buying that at all sorry.

I have a feeling miles will run ware up the middle 20+ times that game.

The key is, if we "can" run down the throat, we will keep doing that. I guess that's what we have been seeing so far. I'm OK with that.

So you've been in the film room with Les and Frank? You've seen the RB grades?

No other back misses blocks? Does any other back break off big gainers like Ford has shown the ability to do?

You're going to be jumping for joy the next time Ford sprints into the end zone after some defenders jock is laying on the turf.
