Is the game worth buying? I haven't seen much about it on this board. How does it compare to 2K11?

they've added more legends, and the ability to play as classic legend teams online. They've added some more things to my player mode. Online apparently sucks ALOT because of lag and other glaring issues. There is no rookie class from this previous draft. So the rosters are the exact same from last year. they've added more moves and animations.

Overall, this is the first time in 6 years that I have not purchased NBA 2K basketball. It's almost EXACTLY like 2K11. Especially from my standpoint, where I don't play much offline. I like the online competition. So rather than fork out $60, I could go pick up 2K11 and probably play games online with it.

I think NBA2K12 = NBA2K11.5

Thanks. I still have 2K11 so I'll just play it until 2K12 goes down in price later on.

The game is really good IMO. More than nba 2k11.5. My only peeve is the fricking CPU shooting 100% from the field at the end of the 1st. And the lag online.

One day they will make a game that doesn't lag online. I only hope my eventual children will be able to experience that, or I can teach them how to play golf well enough they will support my old broke arse.f

Tigerfan, if you love playing online, this game isn't for you yet. If you don't care for online, this game isn't anywhere close to 2K11. The gameplay in this game is far better, especially when you put a good slider set on it and everything. The depth of the legends mode is extremely fun and very realistic in that all of the legends play to their real-life counterparts.

I highly recommend, but I haven't played an online sports mode since I got my PS3 and can enjoy every sports game likewise

I actually hate playing just about every sports game online. Im more of an offline association type.

Well then you should enjoy 2K12. They didn't really change much from the offline association but there wasn't too much that needed to be changed

I picked it up a few hours ago and must say that i am impressed. The presentation and animations are much better than 2K11's.

Yeah, for anyone who says it is 2K11.5 is just stupid. In terms of online play, yeah it probably is, but the gameplay is light years ahead of last year

I can't wait to try out the new and improved my-player mode. I usually spend like 70% of the time I put into the 2k series there.

You can turn on the shot indicators in the display options.

Not only do they take into account how the release was, but the type of shot it was and all of that.

It challenges you to take better shots instead of trying to do anything you want.

I turned on both of those for the first few games and went through the long training and it makes it so worth it

I really like the My Player mode, however I like to play longer quarters to make the games more realistic statistically and it takes a long freaking time to play through an entire season; I wish they would give the ability to sim games from the main menu.

I thought they had an option where you only play the key games? I think it comes out to like 14-16 games each season

I got a few hours in on this today and it is quite awesome. I had to really re-work my shooting motion and timing and it is very hard to score in the paint but I'm averaging 12 ppg in my-player so far.
