I was just listening to Eddie and Mark Packer on the XM college football show this morning. An Alabama fan called up, mentioned how much he loved TR, then asked Eddie who were RBs that he enjoyed watching in college football and what he looked for in a great running back.

I was stunned when the first backs he mentioned were "those two at LSU", then he mentioned Lattimore, TR and LaMichael James. He said he thought James was very good and doing things in space is "cute" but what he looks for are those guys that create yardage when there is none. He said he likes to see the "violent" yards, which is why he probably mentioned LSU's backs (especially Ware). He mentioned Lattimore again as one he sees has the ability NOW to play in the NFL because of his knack for yards after hit (which I agree with, I love Lattimore's ability and his attitude).

I don't think Ware and Ford get enough recognition because they don't have the flashy numbers since they are sharing the load so much. BUT, this will really be to our advantage later in the season when guys like TR are feeling the weight of all those carries and our guys are feeling much more fresh. Having Blue just adds to that as well. He's probably just a cut below those two talent wise, but he is a hard runner and worker and great blocker.

He might have been talking about Ware and Blue.
What I think he meant was,
"All of those RBs at LSU".
Go team!

Yeah its Ware & Everyone else at this point, Blue has 14 less carries than Ford, so if you had to say one name that shares the load it would still be Ford despite the past 2 weeks.
Ware-105
Ford-62
Blue-48

If Ford wouldn't have been nonexistent in these last few games, him and Ware probably could have both gotten close to 1000 yards by the end of the season

Ford is quickly becoming the has been. I am sure it's who George meant, but he is a few weeks behind.

Ford has 6 TDs! That is seriously eye-popping, and he had only 10 carries for 24 yards total in the last 2 games.

Our rbs would be more flashy if we threw the ball more but that's just not Les Miles style.

We've thrown more TD's than Bama's amazing QB's

ETA- and less INT's, just for the record.

But we have less passing attempts with greater time of possesion. Basically teams realize when we get up by a couple of TDs Miles wants to sit on a lead and run the clock out. This strategy doesn't help our RBs break long runs but it is very effective at winning the game.

It is funny to hear delusional fans from other schools. They have tunnel vision. They probably have not even watched LSU, and when they do, they are in shear amazement.

This team makes plays all over the field, and you can compare almost any single position to the best in the country.

Well, I was just surprised that LSU RBs were the first words out of his mouth. Not LaMichael James, Trent Richardson, Marcus Lattimore, Mike Dyer, etc. If anyone should know about good RB play, it's Eddie.

Ware is a beast. I would definitely not want to tackle that guy.

It's always great when a well-balanced team has a routine position compared to the best in the country. Ole Les can build a team.

McCarron and Jarrett Lee have thrown the exact same amount of TDs. Lee has thrown 1 less interception.

I never said Lee has thrown more TD's. I said LSU has thrown more TD's than Alabama
