Its time for that title to be reassigned after its rightfully stripped from the Cowboys. We all know about the dynasty of the 90's but how long can the franchise ride the coattails of those teams in route to being a media favorite year after year?

Since 2000, the Cowboys are a mediocre 90-90 (90-91 after the lose the Pats Sunday). That puts them in the middle of the pack. 16 teams have better records since that point. They average 8-8 this millennium. They've only made the playoffs 4 out of 11 seasons. In which they've posted a 1-3 record. They've gone 2-7 in the playoffs since their last Superbowl win in 1996. Next time a Cowboys fan tries to make a point with the recycled line "We've won 5 Superbowls, how many has your team won". Ask them how their team went from greatness to mediocre with the quickness.

Its what they did before the 90's that made them Americas team. Do some homework.

I am pretty sure nobody outside of Dallas considers them America's Team anymore.

49ers 78-103
Bengals 75-105

Bills 74-107
Raiders 73-108
Cardinals 68-114
Browns 64-116
Texans 58-91
Lions 53-128

All have winning records this year, and have a good shot at finishing that way, at least we have some parity there.

After years of being horrible, they've stockpiled a lot of prime draft talent and its showing.

Example A: Lions winning with Johnson, Stafford, Suh, Best

Go down to a Home Depot early in the morning; you'll see they are still Central America's Team....

Nope. What they were doesn't tell me what they are. An 11 year sampling is indicative to me of what the Dallas Cowboys have become.

You do know that "America's Team" isn't an official title, right?

Like someone already said, no one really refers to them as America's Team.

Cowboys are a has-been. But being the Cowboys they draw such a big fan base of people rooting for them and against them.

What a rough decade for Detroit. 53-128. That's painful to read. They had 9 wins in 2000 and 7 in 2007. Every other year was garbage. Hopefully this is the start of something great for that team.

Nationally the Steelers are SIGNIFICANTLY more popular than the cowboys...it isn't even close.

Driving home to the TX hill country two years ago, I was taken aback by the number Saints flags flying in every TX small town. I take the "back" roads from Dallas to Kville.

In Kville, most of the bars & many business locations displayed Saints logos. This is cowboy country!

America's team may reside in southern La.
