Explain the verdict to me. He did but it's not a big deal or he didn't and that's why they reduced the charge? This all happened pretty fast this afternoon. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall for the behind the scenes scramble, making phone calls, wheeling and dealing...

all that happened today was they decided that JJ will go to trial.

Or perhaps be offered a plea down. How many bar fight participants ever go to trial?
The civil aspect interests me now.

Dude, come on, you can't be that slow. All that happened today was the Grand Jury decided that there was enough evidence to bring JJ to trial on simple battery. No one decide Jefferson did or didn't do anything.

Is kicking in the head simple battery? I doubt it. The story was probably found to be BS.

Kicking someone in the head with a shoe would have been second degree battery. The Grand Jury effectively found that JJ did not kick anyone in the head.

The grand jury isn't supposed to make those sorts of decisions, but by throwing out the second degree charge the inference is certainly that he did not kick anyone in the head, or at the very least no evidence exists suggesting that he had.

The criteria for 2nd degree battery requires serious bodily injury. If JJ kicked someone in the head, and that person didn't receive a serious injury as a result, then it can't be 2nd degree battery.

So..simple battery in kicking someone in the head while on the ground is OK..for Lsu..expectations..

So does JJ get the rest of his shoes back?

Then fricking explain what's right and stop being that guy who pretends he knows it all.
