First, thanks for writing. It's always great to get input, especially when
it is critical of what I'm doing.

Let me try to explain my reasoning for why I have LSU at No. 4. Actually,
I had them at No. 5 last week, but bumped them ahead of Boise State, which
wasn't impressive at home against Tulsa.

Tell me which team you move down from my top three. Oklahoma already has
wins against Florida State and Missouri, which I think are pretty good
teams. Both have been ranked this season. And the Sooners blew out Tulsa.

My No. 2, Alabama, has been overwhelming in its four wins. I would argue
the win against Arkansas ranks among the best victories by the Top 5.

And my No. 3, Wisconsin, has wiped out all four opponents. Of ocurse, the
competition isn't impressive, but that's not Wisconsin's fault. I look at
the team against the competition, not the competition alone. Wisconsin can
beat anybody in the country. I believe that. Wisconsin was going to be a
great team without Russell Wilson. With him, it's a national title
contender at least on the level of Oklahoma, Alabama and LSU.

The good part is that we've got a whole lot of the season left if
corrections in the ballot are needed. And the even better part is that my
ballot, in the grand scheme of things, is little more than a conversation
piece. Do I take it seriously? Absolutely. I spend plenty of time each
week. And I welcome suggested changes.

Finally, I've never heard "Twat waffle." Great expression, not that I can
use it in the newspaper. Is there some explanation for its existence.

Thanks again. Feel free to write any time.

After stating my case about why i think his logic is wrong and why i called him a "twat waffle."

Thanks for writing back. I've been called much worse by other LSU fans.
One guy wants me dead, or extremely sick. He also wants AP to take my vote
away. That's funny.

It will play out the way it's supposed to. I would love to see LSU in the
title game and now I'm really rooting for it to happen.

Best of luck to the Tigers. I'm glad you'll be watching my vote. Tell your
friends.

Bob

Cant be too mad with this, seems logical. (except that our competition is waaaay better than anyones this year). He is right in that lot of season left and it will sort itself out.

Did he say "the Sooners blew out Tulsa"? So he didn't watch the game I take it?

Nice of him to respond in detail, but his reasoning doesn't make sense.

It is a FACT that LSU has the best resume thus far through 4 weeks of play. Not opinion, it is FACT.

Anyone that does not have LSU in the Top3 has some sort of bias.

The only thing is he isnt punishing wisconsin for who they played, but is for LSU? I dont really get the logic there. Its not LSU fault they played 3 rank teams and havent had a 70 point victory. We could easily argue LSU was a great team without Lee, but with the way he has played they are the #1 team.

LSU would be left out of the game if they go undefeated because Oklahoma and Wisconsin would be ranked ahead of them. So if everyone thought like him they would have to jump LSU over on of those teams. Good thing ap doesnt decide bcs. im confident the BCS poll will have us #1 if we win out.

It just baffles me though that this guy could still have LSU #3 even after winning the bcs title. Cus 3 bcs schools cant go undefeated now, or really would be very unlikely cus 2 of them would play for the title while the other would play fiesta or rose bowl. Then boise could end undefeated also. So it would def be possible to have a Bama/LSU/UF go undefeated and have either wisconsin or OU go undefeated and have boise. You could also throw in stanford as having a shot to. All hell would break loose.

I agree. Not that it's an excuse but he covers Big 12 teams. He probably is denying the truth that LSU and Bama are both on another level than other programs this season.

That is awesome that the guy does not hide behind a rock and will openly explain his logic which I can understand. I don't agree with it but at least it is not a petty argument that some voters will have against a team

BS!!!!!

What had Arkansas done up until that point? Beat the crap out of Missouri St. (Div 2 I assume), and New Mexico(one of the worst teams in Div 1). And they beat Troy by a whole 10 points.

FWIW, Oregon would probably wipe the floor with Arkansas.
